Chuck Smith — Office Manager
Chuck is the office manager and a paralegal at Forbush Legal Offices. Chuck is responsible for all facets of running the firm including all financial and human resources matters, as well as client relations. Chuck retired from the Air Force in 2007 as a Senior Master Sergeant in the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. During his 25 year career in the Air Force, he gained 20 years of law office experience culminating as the senior paralegal for Headquarters Nineteenth Air Force responsible for 77 paralegals at eight law offices from Arizona to Florida.
Chuck lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his wife Renee. Chuck and Renee have one daughter, Carissa (24 yrs old).
Janella Spedilari — Funding Coordinator
Janella has spent most of her life in El Paso County, where her family resides. She is the oldest of six children. Married for 20 years to Troy, and they have five daughters: Adrianna (17 yrs old), Angelica (15 yrs old), Sabra (13 yrs old), Tiffany (9 yrs old) and Desiree (7 yrs old).
After being a “stay at home” mom for 12 yrs, Janella chose to further her education to encourage her own daughters to enjoy school, be the best they can be, and know that they can dream big and successfully accomplish their dreams!
Janella earned an Associate of Applied Science Paralegal/Legal Assistant, suma cum laude, from Blair College in Colorado Springs, July 2004. During her studies she worked as a work study, library assistant for Blair College and earned several awards for outstanding Creative Library Bulletin Boards. She also held a fulltime position for the Army and Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES). She began in food service at Ft. Carson and quickly promoted to a Safety and Security Technician for Loss Prevention at Peterson Air Force Base. She completed her internship as a Volunteer Paralegal for the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate General (JAG) on Fort Carson, and was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Army. After graduating from Blair, she was promoted to a Shift Manager at the Air Force Academy Class VI Shoppette and Car Care Center.
She left AAFES in 2006, and went to work for 7-Eleven as an assistant manager while completing studies at Colorado Technical University earning her Bachelor of Science Business Administration and Management, cum laude, March 2007.
She was ecstatic to join Forbush Legal Offices in May 2007. She continued her education at Colorado Technical University earning her Master of Science Executive Business Administration and Management, December 2007.
Janella has had experience in the Hotel Industry, Home Health Care, Retail Sales, Christian Television Broadcasting, Child Daycare, Telemarketing, Employee Training and Development, OSHA Safety Inspections and Enforcement, and Loss Prevention. All of which contributes to her unwavering devotion to a high standard of Customer Service. She prides herself as a loyal and dependable individual with a high level of ethics which dictate performance. Above all, she looks forward to serving Forbush Legal Offices clients to the best of her ability!
Wendie C. Searan — Senior Legal Assistant
Wendie moved here from Iowa in October 2004, where most of her family is still residing. She is the youngest of six siblings and has one daughter who is married. She is a proud “Nana” to a grandson, Griffin Hudson and a granddaughter, Adelaide Ruth “Addie”
Wendie started working with Kevin in March of 2005 as Kevin’s Legal Assistant. She has experience working as a travel agent, office supervisor, and as a general accountant. She has really settled into the legal field as if it was second nature, and loves the personal contact with all of Kevin’s clients.
Her hobbies include reading and spending time with her husband, Otto and their chocolate lab, Howie. She also enjoys traveling back to Iowa to visit family and friends when she is able. She loves to travel to new places, experience new things and looks forward to hearing the stories of our clients’ travels.
